Unfair Fight (Fifth Week, Jan.)

“Unfair Fight

Yes, the enemy fights dirty. He doesn’t play by the same rules that we do. He can even step outside of many of our rules, and has an army of his own. No, the fight isn’t fair. People don’t even play by the rules. Some are sneaky and manipulative. Some are just plain ignorant of what should and shouldn’t be said or done. No, the fight isn’t fair. And there’s the flesh, the sinful nature of man that fights against us from the inside. We are attacked on every front, every side, inwards and out. The fight isn’t fair. But let me tell you why the fight isn’t fair.

The fight isn’t fair because we have our God. The fight isn’t fair to the enemy because he has already been defeated. No, the fight isn’t fair. It isn’t fair to people who want us to fail because of the multitude of promises we have in His word.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”
—Jeremiah 29:11-14

No, the fight isn’t fair. It isn’t fair to the flesh, the natural, that has to battle the God-powered spirit and the supernatural. We are no longer slaves to fear and sin. So whenever you think, “This isn’t fair,” you’re right! Satan will fight dirty, attacking us in ways we can’t handle alone. But we do not fight alone. We fight alongside our great God, against whom Satan is no match. None is greater than our God, none compare, none contend, none can stand face to face with His holiness and simply walk away.”

“None is greater than our God, none compare, none contend, none can stand face to face with His holiness and simply walk away. “(Tweet this)

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
—Romans 8:37-39
